Birthday cards

I haven't posted any of my work for ages now, due to the fact, that I am still recovering from my knee replacement in May. Things are progressing very slowly but before my op I made these 2 cards for my good friend Bee's birthday on the 15th May.

21st Birthday cards

It is my neices' 21st birthday on the 9th May so my sister asked me to make a selection of cards for her. Have tried to make them all different but not sure I have really achieved what I wanted to but, as I am going into hospital next Tuesday, time just seemed to run away with me. Thanks for taking a look.

Sunday Stampers Week 14 challenge

The Sunday Stampers theme this week is 'Words'. I brayered Lemon Zest and Oriental Poppy glimmer mists onto my card and when dried spritzed gold glimmer mist over the top. The text and swirls were stamped with black stazon and highlighted with my new 'white' pen (sorry can't remember the name). Spritzed the arrows with lemon zest and oriental poppy and placed them appropriately. Thanks for looking.

Sunday Stampers Week 13 challenge

This week's Sunday Stamper challenge is 'Faces' so I used 3 of my favourite images and fb pages. However, for some unknown reason, my scanner hasn't picked up the red areas so I am hoping this is only a temporary blip as it's a new one. Sorry you will just have to image it. lol

Cards

I have quite a few birthdays coming up over the next month so thought it was time I got myself organised and started making some of them. Really enjoyed making all these. Suppose that's why I enjoy stamping so much, as every card can look so different.

Sunday Stampers Week 12 challenge

The Sunday Stampers this week is 'Family'. I thought this image would be lovely and reminded me of my sister and I when we were young!! Used Tim Holtz 2 shades of orange for the backing and most of my Adirondak inpads to colour the image with my dabbers. Finished off with a Memories sentiment and Jennie's Clock stamp.

Envelope - Bugs & Critters.

Ok, I know I have gone complete OTT with this envelope but, I enjoyed doing it so much, I just couldn't stop myself. The scans do not do it justice as everything shimmers with the glimmer mists I have used so you will just have to imagine it. lol. Have tried to reflect a garden in all different times of day, morning, lunchtime, evening and night. The querky side of the insert is the night time theme when all the little critters are going to bed or, like the owl, waking up. Hope you enjoy looking at this as I really do not want to part with it!!

Birthday Envelope - postal

The Craft Swap Forum will be celebrating it's 2nd birthday soon and to honour this occasion our esteemed Administrator, Simon (the dragon!!) has decided to set a challenge for us all. We have to decorate an envelope and insert which will then be made up into a book. This is my effort for the Postal Theme and hope you enjoy looking at it. I am also on the Seventh Heaven Team but this will be entirely different as everything will be inked and stamped.

Sunday Stampers Week 11 challenge

The theme for the Sunday Stampers this week is Journey. I have used my Tim Holtz car, map and sentiment together with a Morris Minor stamp and a new one, I acquired at the NEC, the old bike. Stamped the map straight onto my card with Adirondak inks in red, blue and brown and stamped the images on separate cream card with black Stazon inkpad. I cut them out and mounted them, with silicone glue onto the card. Finished off by smudging further Adirondak inks around the edge.

Cards

This is a small selection of cards I have made using a few of my new stamps. The Art Nouveau ones, I particularly love, and were the quickest cards I have made for ages. They are from Sharon Duncan's Art Nouveau disc.

Altered art

Well, as promised, I did decide to 'alter' my Sunday Stamper card. However, the finished effect would be much better if the images were done with black ink - something I will try another day.

Sunday Stampers Week 10 challenge

I have been wanting to use my new set of stamps from Paper Artsy so, thought this would be a good excuse to use them for the Sunday Stamper's challenge. I had to be sooooooo restrained though, as I wanted to use some really vibrant colours (reds, oranges and yellows) but, as the theme is green, stuck to the rules. Used 6 different inkpads and mounted the main image on some green mirri card. Added some green gems and the job was finished. Quite a simple card so just might 'touch it up' with more colours now!! Unfortunately, it doesn't show up too well on my blog (it looks better in real life!!).

Sunday Stampers Week 9 challenge

As you will see, I am still into my acetate stamping! This week the Sunday Stampers was party hats and I thought this lovely image would look good for a garden party. It was stamped on acetate with a stazon black ink pad and glittered on the reverse. I then mounted the image onto a piece of card with brads and then finished off with some gold mount - job done!!

Sunday Stampers Week 8 challenge

This is my entry for the Sunday Stampers this week which is Laydeee.
I used one of my favourite mediums, acetate and stamped with black stazon the beautiful image of this lady. On the reverse I used glitter in various colours (this takes an awful long time to dry)!! Mounted the acetate image on some white card and used red heart brads to attach it all to some embossed black card stock. Have to say I am really pleased with this weeks challenge. Hope you all like it!!

Sunday Stampers Week 7 challenge

Yes, I know, yet another tag!! but I have been feeling rather poorly today so decided a tag would be quicker. Covered tag with some really nice Thai paper, which unfortunately, cannot be seen very well now. Stamped an oriental image with black stazon on some white shiny paper and mounted on gold mirri card. On the reverse I mounted the same image onto red card and then some black card. Finished off by using Versamark pad and heat embossed gold around the edges of both sides.

Paperdolls challenge

The challenge for March/April was to make either an atc or tag book. As I am 'off' atc's decided to make a tag folder. Used Adironak lavender and blue inks, smudged with a baby wipe, spritzed blue tattered angels. Decided then to add gold tattered angels but, this time, brayered the gold on which, I think, gives a much better effect and is more even and you don't get the 'blotched' look. Stamped 4 sides with Versamark pad and heat embossed images in black and on the reverse stamped the same images with black Stazon pad. Added some ribbons, gems and coloured peel-off borders and finished off with some pretty ribbons. The book I added some blue and lavender flowers and gems and finished the edges with silver stars.

March Tag Swap

I joined in the March Tag Swap on Craft Swap Forum this month. It's theme is birds and flowers so I decided to use my Tim Holtz stamps, as they are amongst my favourite ones. Used Adirondak inkpads, in various colours, smudged onto card with babywipes. Stamped and embossed images in black, red and brown and finished off with some fabric flowers, gems and little butterflies. Added some ribbons and the job was done!!
