Yesterday I was supposed to be putting the inserts into my Xmas cards but, as my Paper Artsy stamps were still out, decided to make 4 more cards. I love these stamps!! All made in the same fashion and method as the other 2. Will have to hide these though as they are for upcoming birthdays as, when my Sister visits, she always takes the most recently made cards I have made!! thanks for looking.
These are 2 birthday cards I made for friends on a forum I am on. I used all Paper Artsy stamps and Tim Holtz inks blending the colours until I was satisfied with the effect. Finished off with gold glimmer mist (on the male card) and silver (on the female card) to give a nice shimmer effect. Added a crown and star and some sparkley jems to set it all off. On the Paper Dolls this year, we have been set bi-monthly themed challenges and it fell to me to set the theme for July/August. I decided on 'make a book' - there were no rules so anything goes!! I started off making one BIA book which then rapidly turned into two, followed by a third (the max. no of entries we are allowed to make). Tried to make them all very different and thoroughly enjoyed making them all. However, as I am very tired (lol) I have posted 2 identical pages on the 2nd and 3rd books and now can't work out how to remove them!! Sorry but just close your eyes on the duplicate pages. It is my sister's birthday tomorrow, 27th June, and I managed to make her a few cards but, I have to say, that this one is my favourite. I used a new set of stamps and lots of Tim Holtz inks to get the background effect and also spritzed gold glimmer. The lady was also coloured in with the same ink pads but with dabbers. Hope she like it as it is my favourite at the moment. Thanks for looking.
I haven't posted any of my work for ages now, due to the fact, that I am still recovering from my knee replacement in May. Things are progressing very slowly but before my op I made these 2 cards for my good friend Bee's birthday on the 15th May.
It is my neices' 21st birthday on the 9th May so my sister asked me to make a selection of cards for her. Have tried to make them all different but not sure I have really achieved what I wanted to but, as I am going into hospital next Tuesday, time just seemed to run away with me. The Sunday Stampers theme this week is 'Words'. I brayered Lemon Zest and Oriental Poppy glimmer mists onto my card and when dried spritzed gold glimmer mist over the top. The text and swirls were stamped with black stazon and highlighted with my new 'white' pen (sorry can't remember the name). Spritzed the arrows with lemon zest and oriental poppy and placed them appropriately. Thanks for looking.
This week's Sunday Stamper challenge is 'Faces' so I used 3 of my favourite images and fb pages. However, for some unknown reason, my scanner hasn't picked up the red areas so I am hoping this is only a temporary blip as it's a new one. Sorry you will just have to image it. lol
I have quite a few birthdays coming up over the next month so thought it was time I got myself organised and started making some of them. Really enjoyed making all these. Suppose that's why I enjoy stamping so much, as every card can look so different.
The Sunday Stampers this week is 'Family'. I thought this image would be lovely and reminded me of my sister and I when we were young!! Used Tim Holtz 2 shades of orange for the backing and most of my Adirondak inpads to colour the image with my dabbers. Finished off with a Memories sentiment and Jennie's Clock stamp.
Ok, I know I have gone complete OTT with this envelope but, I enjoyed doing it so much, I just couldn't stop myself. The scans do not do it justice as everything shimmers with the glimmer mists I have used so you will just have to imagine it. lol. Have tried to reflect a garden in all different times of day, morning, lunchtime, evening and night. The querky side of the insert is the night time theme when all the little critters are going to bed or, like the owl, waking up. Hope you enjoy looking at this as I really do not want to part with it!!
