Baby cards

As most of you know, I haven't done any crafting since last November when my husband bought me a Cuttlebug as part of my Christmas present. So, after months of it sitting on top of a wardrobe, I decided I really had to have a go. A friends son and d/i/l had a new baby daughter on Good Friday so I made a card for the parents and grandparents. Love the Nestabilites and cuttlebug dies and folders and hope I have done them justice with my first attempts. Thanks for looking.

log fire

As some of you will know, my husband Paul is seriously ill so, inbetween looking after Paul and our puppy Archie, there is no time left for crafting. Before we knew how ill Paul, was he decided to take out our old fireplace (which I absolutely hated) and fit a new log burner. After the old fireplace was removed, we discovered the original Victorian fire opening behind so Paul opened it up and this is the end result. Thanks for looking.

This is the latest photo of our lovely Archie enjoying the recent snow. He is now 12 weeks old and loves the snow.

Alfie and Archie - 7 wks old

As promised, here are just a few of the many photos our daughter took of Alfie and Archie on Saturday night (the day we got them). They are so cute and soooo well behaved - couldn't imagine life without them now. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

Sad news re Alfie

Poor little Alfie died this morning. The breeder took him to the vets again and he had a chest infection and he was too small and too weak to recover. The vet had to put him to sleep. Victoria is extremely upset but, at least, she will now have the other black and tan who she will also call Alfie.

Latest additions to our family

As promised, I am letting you all into our little secret. As you know our daughter lost her beloved Max a few weeks ago and has been inconsolable. However, I am now pleased to introduce you all to Alfie and Archie, the two latest editions to our family. Alfie is the black and tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Archie is the tri-colour. As you will see Alfie is half the size of Archie and he is definitely going to take after his very petite mother. Alfie is Victoria's dog and Archie is ours! We can collect them both on the 3rd January 2009 when they will be 8 weeks old.

Birthday cards

I seem to be bogged down with birthday cards just lately. Dec/Jan are the busiest times with my family ones. However, I have made these 2 for friends and am still not sure I am satisfied with the landscape one. I try to make them unique, hoping no one else will come up with the same ideas, but wonder if I have gone a bit ott with it. The second one is using my new Lavinia stamps which I bought at the NEC and I really love these cute images, so much so, that I have made another 3 cards in different stamped colours. Let me have your views please, good or bad, about the landscape card as, I have a feeling, this one will be shelved and another one made unless, of course, you call all persuade me otherwise. Thanks for looking.

Birthday card

My sister's work colleague has asked me to make most of her birthday cards etc this year. It's her sister's birthday on Xmas day so she asked me to personalise this one. Apart from stamps and peel-off, I do not have any machine for making alphabets so, my kind friend Wilma, used hers and did the name Velma for me. Most of the card was done with stamping and embossing and, infact, the name was also triple embossed to co-ordinate with the colours of the card. Finished it off with some pretty Prima flowers to which I added some stickles in crystal. I just hope she likes this one and doesn't send it back!! Thanks for taking a look.

Birthday cards

I seem to have an awful lot of birthdays coming up this month so thought I had better make a start. The architecture card is for my cousin and the images are from The Artistic Stamper - love this site.
The other three are decoupaged (something I haven't done for quite some time). I mounted them on some lovely toned glitter card and am really pleased with the effect. However, it might not show up so well on here! Thanks for looking.

Cardsc

Yesterday I was supposed to be putting the inserts into my Xmas cards but, as my Paper Artsy stamps were still out, decided to make 4 more cards. I love these stamps!! All made in the same fashion and method as the other 2. Will have to hide these though as they are for upcoming birthdays as, when my Sister visits, she always takes the most recently made cards I have made!! thanks for looking.

Cards

These are 2 birthday cards I made for friends on a forum I am on. I used all Paper Artsy stamps and Tim Holtz inks blending the colours until I was satisfied with the effect. Finished off with gold glimmer mist (on the male card) and silver (on the female card) to give a nice shimmer effect. Added a crown and star and some sparkley jems to set it all off. Thanks for looking.

Wednesday, 13 August 2008

On the Paper Dolls this year, we have been set bi-monthly themed challenges and it fell to me to set the theme for July/August. I decided on 'make a book' - there were no rules so anything goes!! I started off making one BIA book which then rapidly turned into two, followed by a third (the max. no of entries we are allowed to make). Tried to make them all very different and thoroughly enjoyed making them all. However, as I am very tired (lol) I have posted 2 identical pages on the 2nd and 3rd books and now can't work out how to remove them!! Sorry but just close your eyes on the duplicate pages. Thanks for looking.

Paperdolls bi-monthly challenge Book 2

This was actually the 1st book I made and got a bit carried away with inks and generally getting messy.

Paperdolls bi-monthly challenge

This was the third and last book I made and, I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed making this one using lots of different stamps inks, glimmer mists etc., Thanks for looking.
